Coming from AT&T gps, I can say I was looking forward to no monthly fee. However, I cant say that with Magellan, I used it for some time & on my way to two important engagements I did not get proper directions.
Let me first say the inputting of the address is so complicated, you have to first a box comes up to enter a city, what if I dont know the city. Then you a box comes up and you have to enter a street and so on.
With AT&T I can copy an entire address & paste it into the address box and if I dont have a city it will suggest a few cities and then I can choose which best fits my need.
The Magellan also indicated that I was going in the wrong direction and on the wrong street when I was actually headed in the right direction & on the right street. Its rerouting actually took some time as well to acquire my correct location.
Although AT&T removed their in app access to my iPod, Magellan has a lot to desire for this function. It lags quit a bit to open & respond to your touch for opening, selecting music as well as being able to shuffle the content or choosing a playlist, artist or genre.
Magellan has a lot of work ahead of itself to be a top contender for cell mobile GPS.
My search continues.
